Okay, so what I don't really understand is that if Pip knew all along, since he was seven or so, that Estella was raised to break his heart, why does he court her still? I understand that he's in love with her, but I think you might get a clue after, what, fifteen years?

Okay, so I know this was explained in class, but I still don't really get it. Where did the 'Avenger' come from? I really don't remember what chapter he is from or what page to cite, so bear with me.
